There’s never been a more exciting time to be a learner in the Mendon-Upton Regional School District (MURSD). With the recent publication of Inspire, MURSD’s 2018-2023 strategic plan, the district has articulated an aspirational mission and vision for the future of learning in our community. Inspire was authored by a collaborative committee of students, educators, parents, and community members. Although all members of this group entered the process with different perspectives and experiences, they developed a shared commitment to reimagining school in order to prepare students for the modern world.

Inspired Learning Library

Thanks to a generous grant by the Upton Cultural Council supported by the Mass Cultural Council, we are excited to establish an Inspired Learning Library, a collection of forward-thinking books to help bring the conversation about reimagining school from the strategic planning committee to the greater communities of Mendon and Upton.
The purpose of the library is to create opportunities for exploration of and conversation about how to create schools that inspire. This collection of books will serve as a way to build momentum within the school and throughout the community in support of this forward-thinking vision for our schools.
The Inspired Learning Library is a collection of books focused on reimagining, redesigning, and reinventing schools for the modern world. The library runs off a “pay it forward” mindset. Read one of the ILL books, encounter ideas about reimagining school, and then pay it forward by passing the book to another community member. Our hope is to share knowledge, generate conversation, and build excitement about schools that inspire!
The library launches at 6:30pm on September 26, 2019 at the Nipmuc Open House. Sign a book out with our student volunteers. When you’re done reading, simply share the book with another community member and go to bit.ly/inspiredlearninglibrary to help us track the journey of our library.
Contact information will be used only to track the sharing of our library and will not be disseminated.

How it works?
- Books can be borrowed by any member of our Mendon and Upton communities, young and old.
- To "check out" a book, you can visit the main office at Nipmuc Regional High School to see available text or reserve a copy of your desired book (see books below) by clicking here.
- After borrowing a book from the library, the recipient of the book should add their name and contact information to an online tracking form so that we can "follow" the books as they move throughout our community.
- Borrowers will be encouraged to pass the book to another member of the community who may be interested in reading the book when they are done with it. The next recipient can add their name and contact information to the tracking form as well.
- We would love your feedback after you read the book as well. Take a couple minutes to share your thoughts either in the back of the book or on our digital form.
-If you are done with a book and do not plan to pass it along, please return the book to Nipmuc Regional High School at 90 Pleasant Street, Upton, MA.
If you are interested in reading a book from the Inspired Learning Library but can't make it to our school, please feel free to reach out to us by phone (508.529.2130) or email (inspiredlearningproject@gmail.com) and we will be happy to accommodate you by delivering or sending the book directly to you.
