The Inspired Learning Project team invites you to join us for our 3rd Annual Inspired Learning Convention at Nipmuc Regional High School on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. We convene to share relevant, authentic learning experiences that learners will remember throughout their lifetime . This day-long PD event also brings together educators and administrators from across New England to facilitate conversations around how Inspired Learning be implemented in our different school contexts. Attendees will leave the event with access to all the lessons and/or projects presented at this convention, so they can be brought back to their respective schools and districts and shared with their colleagues.
The goal of the Inspired Learning Convention, and the Inspired Learning Project, is to build a network of educators committed to sharing inspiring teaching and learning practices that make learning modern, relevant, and meaningful for students.
We hope that you will join us us this March for the convention and also consider sharing your insights as a presenter. The proposal process is now open and you can learn more about the application at the bottom of the page.

Conventions are to discuss and engage. Unlike conferences, conventions are built to support dialogue and conversation. Conventions are a place for talking, networking, and sharing your thoughts and ideas surrounding a common interest. There may still be speakers at conventions, but there should also be much more talking on a face-to-face level. Conventions are designed for attendees to engage with each other, while conferences focus on engaging the attendee with the speaker. (SpinGo, August 21, 2015)

Round Table Project DiscussionsParticipants will hear from educators who have brought inspired learning moments to life in their classroom. They'll share their process, resources, and how to navigate common challenges in the process. In these dialogue-oriented sessions, participants will ask clarifying or procedural questions as they thinking about bringing these projects to their own schools.
Round table sessions are choice-based and are held multiple times, so that participants can learn about several projects over the course of the convention. |

Diving Deeper WorkshopsThe Diving Deeper Workshops are an opportunity for educators to play and create with the practices that yield Inspired Learning . These 60 - 90 minute sessions are active, participatory experiences where educators will apply both new and familiar ideas to potential classroom projects. Round Table Sessions & Workshop Proposals
We invite you to share your story, project or practice at the 2020 Inspired Learning Convention. The proposal form can be found below.
Proposals will be selected based on their alignment with the innovative elements of the Inspire: The MURSD strategic plan. Strong proposals demonstrate evidence of several of the following elements:
Deep Inquiry: Students go beyond rote memorization to investigate questions, apply knowledge & create projects for an outside audience
Student Agency: Student choose the content of what they are learning/role in the project /medium for sharing understanding
Authentic & Engaging Work: The projects represent products that have value and meaning both inside and outside of the school
Purposeful Use of Technology: Technology serves, not drives, the project unless the product is technology oriented
Flexible Learning Environments: Educators redesign physical space and virtual space flexibly to meet the academic, social-emotional, and vocational needs of their students.
Growth Through Feedback and Reflection: Assessment practices are grounded in regular, meaningful feedback and continuous reflection to promote individual growth.
